Becoming a Sobell Rhodes client

Choosing the right accountant is one of the most important appointments you can make. To make that choice as easy as possible here is a step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Getting in touch

Initially you can contact us by telephone or email. Alternatively, to give us more information about your circumstances please complete the online enquiry form on this page and we will then contact you.

Step 2: Initial telephone call

We will give you the opportunity to explain to us the reasons for your enquiry and the issues you would like to discuss.  If this is something relatively simple then we will be happy to tell you on the telephone how we can help you and provide you with an indicative fee quotation.  However, to gain a full understanding of your circumstances we normally recommend a face-to-face meeting.

Step 3: First meeting

This can take place at either your premises or our offices.  You can bring to that meeting information such as previous accounts, tax returns, business plans etc. or keep it informal. Our accountants will answer your questions and learn more about your personal and business priorities. We will establish what you want to achieve and what's most important to you. We will then be able to advise you how we can specifically help you and your business, as well as provide you with a detailed written proposal and price.

Step 4: Proposal

This details the accounting services you will receive (e.g. Accounting & Auditing, Tax Consultancy etc.) how we will work together, the people from Sobell Rhodes who will be involved and the outcomes and benefits you will receive. It will also include specific service plans and prices.

Step 5:  Agreement

Once we have agreed the specific financial services you require, we will give you a direct debit payment plan which normally allows you to spread your payments to us.

Step 6: Easy Transfer

If you already have an accountant, we will help you make the transfer as easy and hassle-free as possible. We will also provide you with a pro-forma letter explaining tactfully why you have decided to change accountants to ourselves and authorising your previous accountants to provide us with information about your affairs. We will then write to them. This is very straightforward and will not cost you anything.

Step 7: Completing the process

We will ask you for the normal identity and compliance documents. We will then prepare engagement and welcome letters so you know exactly what we will be doing and who will be your principal contacts at Sobell Rhodes together with their contact details.

We can then look forward to a very successful and happy working relationship.
